Getting There - By Train
If you are coming from London or the south then you will need to get a train to Edinburgh (either Edinburgh Waverly, or Edinburgh Haymarket) and then get a train to Livingston South. There is a frequent service to Livingston South or Uphall from both Waverly and Haymarket every 30 minutes (£3.90 single). You can book this journey as part of your main ticket. The full journey from Kings Cross to Livingston South is around 5 hours. From Livingston South you will need to get a taxi to Houstoun House.

If there you are a group of four or less then the best bet is to get a private hire. You can get a private hire with more than four people, but you'll probably need to book this in advance.
